Itinerary: Switzerland (Lucerne), Germany (Munich), Austria (Innsbruck, Salzburg & Vienna), the Czech Republic (Prague), Poland (Krakow & Warsaw), the three small Baltic Countries of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia which have quite recently regained their independence, Finland (Helsinki) and Russia as well as Dubai for an Arabian experience.
Highlights: The Central & Eastern European Farming Tour has been designed as a business trip, which may qualify as a tax-deductible expense. However, it is not all work and no play as sightseeing and shopping time has been included and you’ll see the very best of scenery that these countries have to offer. As with all Australian Farmers Tours we’ll get off the tourist track visiting sheep, beef, dairying, horticultural,
cropping, experimental farms and some of Europe’s fast developing organic farms. Visiting the Auschwitz Memorial, the site of World War II concentration camp and St. Petersburg, founded by Peter the Great in 1703 and Moscow that has captivated the imagination of travelers for centuries are just a few of the highlights.
Tour Cost: The cost is fully inclusive of all breakfasts, 10 lunches and 15 dinners and utilises the services of Singapore Airlines.
Tour Leader: David Whyte, Elders District Wool Manager based in Hamilton Vic servicing clients in Western Victoria and the South East of South Australia, has previously led Australian Farmers Tours to China, New Zealand, Europe & England as well as the highly acclaimed 2004 Canada Farming & Alaska Tour and in 2006 led a most successful Australian Farmers Great Britain, Ireland & Scandinavian Farming Tour. His wife Lynne will again accompany David and as this tour is limited to only 44 people it is expected to fill very quickly.
About Us: Australian Farmers Travel registered in Victoria and owned and operated by Andrew Curry, commenced in 1973 as a service to primary producers and shareholders of the then major rural co-operatives Victorian Producers’ (now Elders), Westralian Farmers (now AWB Landmark), Primaries (now Elders), Gippsland and Northern, Bennetts Farmers and Farmers & Graziers. Our tours offer the chance to see how farming is practiced worldwide and also provide a sense of fellowship and a chance to meet other farm families from all over Australia. Friendships formed on an Australian Farmers Tour often last a lifetime. |
